About Harold Hartog
Harold Hartog (1910-2007) was the benefactor behind the founding of the Harold Hartog school and an avid supporter of Israel. Born in Holland, Mr. Hartog resided for most of his adult life in Germany and was a descendant of a co-founder Unilever, one of the world's largest industrial and commercial conglomerates. Mr. Hartog served as chairman of Unilever's International Board of Directors and played an important role in building its German subsidiaries. At Tel Aviv University, he supported the Freedom from Hunger Campaign, as well as the building that houses the Institute for Cereal Crops Improvement.
